MYPI: addressing the major challenges of its clients

The 100% Mexican family business dedicated to the manufacture of plastic parts by injection won the CLAUGTO Supplier Award at the last edition of the 2022 Automotive Supplier Forum.

León, Guanajuato, November 2, 2022.- MYPI (Molds and Injected Products) is a family business dedicated to the manufacture of plastic parts through the injection process, founded in the early 1960s in Mexico City by Carlos Sánchez Granja, its current General Director, who together with his children Gerardo, Carlos and Aurora Sánchez Rodríguez and his Team of Collaborators lead the management and continuous improvement of the company.

They began working in plastic injection for the cosmetics sector, but due to different situations in the mid 70's they moved to the city of Leon Guanajuato, it was difficult in the first years since when settling in a shoe city, there was no diversity of industries so they continued working with clients and suppliers from Mexico City, the perseverance and effort of Mr. Carlos Sanchez Granja were rewarded when at the end of the nineties the region began to experience growth in industries and variety of these, realizing the great opportunity they had before them to expand the portfolio of clients and products, beginning to work with diverse industries, such as cleaning articles and thus prepare MYPI for the automotive industry, through the implementation of ISO 9001 2015, training in Core Tools and in the training of suppliers for the automotive industry with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development (SDES). 

They have clients in the center of the country mainly such as: Querétaro, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Silao, Celaya, León, CDMX, among others. Their main clients are: in the Automotive Industry, in the cleaning area with soap, paper, napkin dispensers, etc. and in the cosmetics industry.

MYPI focuses on providing solutions to its clients that meet the requested requirements, always maintaining a light operation to remain competitive. They also have a workshop for manufacturing and maintaining molds.

They currently have around 50 employees, aged between 19 and 80 years, and 50% are women. Their main Educational Institution providing specialized personnel is the Technological University of León.

MYPI has been in constant renewal, it has a plan to integrate robotic assistance equipment in the injection molding machines, to improve production times and have a higher quality in the finished product.

As part of the continuous improvement within MYPI, an exchange of good practices has been created with its clients, in order to improve their processes, in addition to participating in and promoting various projects such as CLAUGTO Certification, Equipment Renewal, IATF Certification.

All these good practices allowed them to obtain the CLAUGTO Supplier Award, last September at the Automotive Supplier Forum 2022.
